 The first chapter is an overview of continuous hot dip galvanizing. 1. What are the hot dip coating of steel? Its technology is briefly introduced? Hot dip galvanizing is a series of physical and chemical reactions that occur on the surface of the workpiece by immersing the plated metal material in other liquid metals or alloys with a lower melting point a metal coating shall be formed on the surface of the workpiece. The melting point of the workpiece metal must be much higher than the melting point of the coating metal. Commonly used coating metals are tin, zinc, aluminum, lead, etc, respectively called hot dip tin, hot dip galvanizing, hot dip aluminizing, hot dip plating lead. The basic characteristic of this method is that the alloy layer is formed between the base metal and the coating metal, so the hot dip coating is composed of alloy metal and coating metal. The main purpose of hot dip plating is to improve the protection ability of the workpiece and prolong the service life. The hot dip coating process includes three parts : surface pretreatment, hot dip coating and post-treatment. According to the difference of surface pretreatment methods, it can be divided into solvent method and protective gas reduction method. Among them, the hydrogen reduction method is mostly used for the continuous hot strip coating, and the typical Sendzimir method and the United States Steel Union Law belong to this kind of technology. Industrial solvent method is mostly used for coating of steel wire and steel structure. The method is to apply a layer of solvent to the surface of the steel which is cleaned by pickling before the steel is immersed in the pan, and the solvent layer is decomposed by heat during the dip plating, volatilization, so that the fresh steel base surface is exposed and the molten metal is contacted directly, and the coating is formed by reaction and diffusion. In the solvent method, there are also wet and dry points. Wet method is the earlier method of use. It is the pickling and purification of the steel after the dip coating of water-soluble solvent, without drying and directly immersing the melt flux into the metal liquid hot plating, so you have to cover a molten metal surface with a layer of molten flux. The dry process is to remove the moisture and then the hot dip coating after the water soluble solvent is impregnated. Because the dry process is simple, aluminum can be added in the zinc solution, and the quality of the coating is good. At present, the hot dip galvanizing production of most steel structures is dry, and the wet process is gradually eliminated.
